FACTSHEET

  • 25 km of cross country tracks for ski running, which pass through the very picturesque slopes between Pamprovo resort and Mougla Village;
  • Enormous variety of accommodation possibilities from small cozy family hotels and chalets to luxurious hotels with numerous facilities;
  • The 15 lifts (6 of them with seats) have a uplift capacity of 11 600 persons per hour;
  • It is the sunniest Bulgarian ski resort located in one of the most pristine coniferous habitats in Europe;
  • Pamporovo is only 70 km from Plovdiv airport and 220 km from Sofia airport.


APRES SKI
Pamprovo is considered by many Bulgarian and foreign tourists a four season resort. Outside of the active ski season there are plenty of opportunities like practicing speleological activities, hiking, rock climbing, wildlife observations (even bear watching!), short cultural trips, SPA and many others. Categorically  is most lively in the winter. Outside of the ski runs there are attractions for everyone to enjoy for 24 hours. It has it all: saunas, discotheques, night clubs, bars, restaurants offering local dishes as patatnik and klin, bowling, fitness rooms, etc. The proximity of the towns of Smolyan and Chepelare also offer fabulous opportunities for shopping and other forms of entertainment.


DAILY EXCURSION IN THE AREA
For non-skiers there are plenty of possibilities to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the Rhodopi Mountains (considered the home of the famous Orpheus). Some of them are:

  • Plovdiv and Bachkovo Monastery– the second biggest town with the second biggest monastery in Bulgaria. Plovdiv is one of the oldest city in Europe and has remains from Thracian, Ancient Roman and Bulgarian, Ottoman and Bulgarian Revival period times.
  • Shiroka Luka Village – the village has preserved fine masterpieces of the Rhodopean Revival Period architecture and folklore traditions.
  • Smolyan – offers fabulous shopping possibilities and a modern Planetarium.

 

SKIING FACILITIES
 

  • The marked ski slopes descend from Snejana Peak from the north, north-east and north-west exposure;
  • There 17 pistes with total length of 37 km;
  • The maximum vertical from top to bottom is 475 m;
  • There are three cross-country runs in Pamporovo with 25km of trails in total.
  • The Wall is the most difficult piste, which is for professionals and is open and lightened till 22:00 hrs.
  • There are 9 ski tow lines, as well as there are 6 ski lifts (seats) and they help skiers to move quickly and comfortably.


MEDICAL AND DENTAL SERVICES
The Emergency ski patrol service is available 24 hours a day. Ambulance and clinic (with doctor and nurse) are available, as well as first aid, on all ski slopes. Fully equipped and functioning hospitals are available in Smolyan and Chepelare. Highly qualified dentists are available at Pamporovo or Chepelare.Pharmacies are available at the resort.


SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING IN PAMPOROVO

Beginners
Pamporovo's ski terrain is ideal for first-timers, with no less than 11 easy slopes to learn on. The local ski school runs special English language group lessons. Our 'First time' ski packages are highly recommended and fantastic value for money.

Intermediates
Moderate intermediates and improver skiers will find Pamporovo a very good place for their ski holiday. If you take the Malina chairlift to the middle station, followed by the Studenec lift to the summit, you'll find a choice of wide runs leading back to the village, ideal for practising your parallels.

Advanced
Stronger skiers will head for the aptly named 'Wall', a steep and challenging black mogul field. There is an international slalom course to time yourself on, as well as some interesting long reds.

Snowboarding
With plenty of wide open runs, Pamporovo is a great resort for learning to board, offering plenty of excellent cruising terrain - perfect for riding and carving those turns!
